Review of 2009.

This month 9 greys found their forever, loving homes.

May, Sammy, Katie, Penny, Gwenn, Charley, Jackson, Indi and Zak, who became our 150th homing since the branch formed in May 2008. The total homed in 2009 is an excellent 110. Sadly two greyhounds homed by the MRGT passed away in 2009: Ronnie (homed 6 September 2008) and Boris (homed 19 October 2008). Thankfully they spent some time in loving homes.

We held 24 fundraising / awareness events, highlights of these being our first sponsored walk at Walton Hall Gardens Near Warrington in March.

Stockton Heath festival held in July especially the fun dog show we held - I have never seen so many dogs in one place. Our fun dog shows became very popular in 2009 and the support was overwhelming.

In July we were asked to open a new Pets at Home store in Speke and since then we have become partners in helping greys find loving homes, a relationship that will certainly grow in 2010.

Belle Vue Greyhound Stadium. Manchester granted us a charity night in October, an excellent night with a great turn out of greys which we have homed who raced at the track. Every event we held in 2009 helped the cause,

September saw the arrival of the van all gleaming and professionally sign written; – this has proven to be a great asset to the branch.

I would like to thank everyone involved with the branch in whatever capacity. Homing a grey, fundraising, homechecking and especially those volunteers who give up their time to visit the kennels to make sure the greys are well and get their walks. Why not send us some pics of your grey/s enjoying the festive season for the web site.

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year.
Graham.
