Events.

Below are some of our events planned for 2010.

• Saturday 20th March (10am - 4pm). Widnes Market, Bradley Way, Widnes WA8 6UE. Fund raising and awareness day . We will be holding an "Easter Themed" tombola and are looking for donations of easter eggs etc. If you feel you can help please contact Angela on 01925 638858. (this was a very popular event in 2009).


• Saturday 10th April Playgroup (5pm-7pm) at Bold Heath Equestrian Centre Warrington Road Boldheath. WA8 3XT. After the success of the first playgroup when 34 greys had a great time running around in a safe indoor arena., we have decided to make it a regular event. • Saturday 17th April. Charity night at Belle Vue Greyhound Stadium. Kirkmanshulme Lane. Gorton. Manchester. M18 7BA. An opportunity offered for us to fundraise etc. for a second time. Volunteers required to help on night. Please contact Graham or Angela on 01925 638858.


• Monday 3rd May (12noon - 4pm) Culcheth Community Day held on village green in the centre of Culcheth. Nr. Warrington. A relaxing afternoon with plenty of charity stalls and local entertainment.


• Monday 31st May .....Warrington Horse Show, Hall Lane, Daresbury, Nr. Warrington. WA4 4AF....We are holding a "Fun Dog Show" at this venue, this was an excellent event in 2009. More info to follow.


• Sunday 13th June. Birchwood Carnival. Birchwood Forest Park. Birchwood. Nr. Warrington. WA3 6QX. (12noon – 5pm). Various charity stalls and entertainment. Why not come along and meet the greys…


• Saturday 19th June. “Bawming the Thorn” and Village Fete to be held at The Village Hall Appleton Thorn Nr Warrington. (12noon – evening.) The custom dates back to medieval times when a Norman knight, on his way back to Cheshire from the crusades, brought with him a sprig of Glastonbury thorn and planted it at Appleton Thorn.. Greys and their owners will be made very welcome.


• Sunday 20th June... The branch is planning to take part in "The Great British Greyhound Walk". It is an opportunity for owners around Britain to come together at simultaneous walks to celebrate retired racing greyhounds and raise awareness of their suitability as pets . Duration approx one hour, start time 10am. Venue and more info to follow.


• Saturday 3rd July.....Halewood Community Festival at Halewood Leisure Centre, Bailey Lane, Halewood, Merseyside. L26 0TY...(11am - 4pm)...We are holding a "Fun Dog Show"...a new event for the branch. More info to follow.


• Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th July...Stockton Heath Festival, Mill Lane Field, Stockton Heath, Warrington....This is an excellent event and we are holding a "Fun Dog Show" on the Sunday...Last year our fun dog show was voted most popular event of the weekend. More info to follow.


• Sunday 15th August....Haigh, Blackrod and Aspull Agricultural Show. The Windmill Field. Copperass Lane . Haigh. Nr. Wigan. An excellent show last year with plenty to see and do. The show organisers will be holding a fun dog show.


• Saturday 4th September…The branches 2nd sponsored walk…Venue and details to follow.
